Responsible for deployment, integration, and support of diagnostic medical imaging equipment as it relates to hardware and software issues and network connectivity. Produce and maintain documentation on said equipment in accordance with FDA requirements.  Established relationships with vendors to facilitate development of DICOM communication validation methods between diagnostic medical imaging devices. Made extensive use of DICOM Validation Tools to troubleshoot DICOM connectivity issues.

I.T. Services group representative for the Rockford facilities. Perform tasks related to the support of all laptop and desktop PCs and worked with the Enterprise Data group to provide server support for the servers at the Rockford facilities. Duties include, but not limited to, troubleshooting problems related to operating systems, Lotus Notes, office productivity software (i.e. MS Office, Open Office, etc.), network connectivity, and hardware issues. Additional tasks include configuring new systems, installing and configuring new network devices, new e-mail accounts, providing assistance to users, and applying security patches and anti-virus protection and fixes. This support provided to facilities that previously had no full-time on-site I.T. support. This greatly increased overall productivity, as well as, turn-around time for I.T. related repairs and new hardware and software implementations.

Continue to administer Exchange 2000 Server cluster, Windows 2000 DNS/DHCP servers and Windows 2000 file and print servers within an Active Directory schema. Administrative duties include maintaining server security through evaluation and application of all appropriate service packs, security patches, and hot fixes, configuration of Group Policy, establishing network shares and applying appropriate security, and user and computer management.  Provided support for Oracle based MRP/ERP system currently under development, as well as existing AS/400 based system. PC/E-mail Specialist

 

Participated in the planning, preparation, and migration from Novell GroupWise 5.5 to a Microsoft Windows 2000 Server/Exchange 2000 Server e-mail system, and administration of that system. Assisted in the installation and configuration of new domain controller and clustered mail servers. Developed procedures for user e-mail account migrations, for the installation of e-mail client software, and for configuration of domain and Exchange parameters. Worked with corporate MIS personnel to establish and configure a child domain of the Panasonic corporate domain. This domain will eventually contain the Knoxville facility, and facilities in the U. PC Technician

 

Charged with maintaining health of a 300+ client network in a bi-lingual, multi-platform environment. Daily activities include diagnosis of hardware and software problems in a Novell/Windows based LAN system, and implementation of solutions; performing system back-ups and restorations; troubleshooting network connectivity problems; providing support to users, management, and contract service personnel. Responsibilities include researching and making recommendations, providing quotes for, and purchasing hardware and software solutions. Perform upgrades and maintenance on Cisco routers. Troubleshoot printing and connectivity problems in an IBM AS/400 environment. Maintain licensing documentation on client PC’s and network servers.

 

Instrumental in creating a help desk system which greatly improved user support, and facilitated the creation of a searchable knowledgebase of problems encountered and their solutions, for future reference.

 

Assisted in the upgrade of all network clients to Windows 2000 Professional. Upgrading some of the older PC’s running some of the legacy applications used by our manufacturing plants proved very challenging, but solutions have been found in every case. These efforts also presented the opportunity to thoroughly document/correct all hardware configuration information, and document and ensure the legality of all software licensing.

Worked with the MIS department to develop the material procurement system within the AS/400 and trained other personnel in its use once the system was adopted.  

 

Attention to detail and initiative earned the opportunity to serve as a member of a team of engineers and technicians tasked with monitoring performance and providing technical support to vendors in the early phases of a new engine program.  Team efforts toward the successful delivery of critical engine components, on schedule, played a large role in the subsequent award of a major engine contract by the U.S. Air Force.
